No Handlebars

Look at me
Look at me
Driving and I won't stop
And it feels so good to be
Alive and on top
My reach is global
My tower secure
My cause is noble
My power is pure
and I can end the planet in a holocaust
In a holocaust
In a holocaust
In a holocaust
In a holocaust
In a holocaust
I can ride my bike with no handlebars
No handle bars
No handlebars

Flobots - Handlebars

You don't realize it then, but that feeling that you felt as you lifted your hands up and balanced your bike, would become addicting. It would be a feeling that you would chase after for the rest of your life. More often than not, falling short of grasping it again.
But in that moment. In that one glorious moment, where you rode your bike with no handle bars you felt wonderful. Powerful. In complete control. You in that moment knew your life was in your hands and for that split second you were invincible.
The world was at your fingertips and the sky but mere centimeters from your grasp.
You would sweat, and bleed, and hurt to feel that way again.
Stomp, and squish on anyone in your path.
You would become cold, and harsh. Void of most emotions but greed and pride.
You would become powerful just as you hoped in the end.
But you too would be weak.
You did not know it then but as you raised your hands into the air, and with a gap toothed smile to your father, you would begin your quest on becoming a monster.
Still a child, and yet you would be on the path to your end.
